Round V at the 'Nature Park' - Finally Found Silver!

After almost 6 weeks of detecting at this park ... I finally found a silver coin! I've been hunting this park for over a month now, needless to say the finds have been both interesting and a mystery all the same. :icon_scratch:
These finds all came from an area of 50' wide x 200' long. I'm taking my time in each area that I grid, for example, this area took me almost 3hrs to work. Now the coin's not as old as I would have preferred like a 'Vickie' (a Victorian Silver), but it's her grandson George VI dated 1950. I also found another 'Heart' Buckle Shield, a horse bit and a very decorative bend piece of heavy brass with metal rivets in the ends ... maybe a saddle decoration? :dontknow: I'm thinking I'll post this in the 'What is It' forum and ask for members thoughts. This park is literally a 5 minute drive from my house, but I waited to detect it until I've hunted out almost all the available surrounding farms and fields in my area.

Thanks for looking,
Dave

Update - Before & After Pics

Just thought you all might like to see what the finds from this hunt and the hunt before this one look like after 36hrs of tumbling. I know some of you like to leave your finds 'as is' and I do too, but sometimes I like to 'gently restore' them too! These will patina back down to a darker colour in a couple of weeks after being exposed to the air as well! :icon_thumleft:

Nice finds. Your "what is it" piece is interesting. Hope an ID comes soon.

Awesome! Really great finds! Congrats on your silver coin!

I'm still silver coin-less, and gold-less, and ...sigh,.... internet- less! And don't ya know people are making Banner finds right and left, tell me it's not a conspiracy!

Good job, you have a great site there. I love that heart buckle too, sweet silver!

Good Job Love The ' Boat Design ' on the back of that coin. I think that I want one of them.

Don't give up hope MsBB, the more you dig the more good stuff you'll find!
I like to say ... "if nothing happened there, then there will be nothing to find, also dig everything!" :laughing7:

Thanks for your post Dave!
Here in Canada we started using 'The Bluenose' on our dimes in 1937.
Dave

The Bluenose was a Canadian fishing and racing schooner from Nova Scotia built in 1921. A celebrated racing ship and hard-working fishing vessel, Bluenose under the command of Angus Walters became a provincial icon for Nova Scotia and an important Canadian symbol in the 1930s. She was later commemorated by a replica Bluenose II built in 1963; leaking and worn out, it was dismantled in 2010, and rebuilt in the same shipyard as its ancestors in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, and launched in 2013. The name "bluenose" originated as a nickname for Nova Scotians from as early as the late 18th century.

Cool Finds!

Thanks coinman!

In all honesty, I've only dug 3 US Silver Dimes ... but I find US silver much more interesting than our plain old Canadian coins! :laughing7:
Thanks for your post Bugsy,

The only thing better than finding one silver coin ... is finding 5 more over my next few hunts here! :laughing7:
Thanks,
Dave

Thanks G!
Sure beats finding a George the IV silver ... finding a George VI is so much better! :laughing7:
