Hi, I can't find anything. A few years back I found 1/4 of a plate that had the same writing on it so there was definatley more than one. Maybe you could find something in England?CRUSADER said:Both very nice finds, with some research it should be easy to find records of such a plate![]()

CanDiver said:What a week. I need help identifying the pewter plate. Has anyone found one before? The inscription around the edge reads "BRITANIA TRIUPHANT HER NAVY INVINCIBLE THE INTREPID NELSON VICTORIOUS AT ABOURKIR COPENHAGEN AND TRAFALGAR WHERE HE GLORIOUSLY FELL AT THE MOMENT OF VICTORY OCT.21 1805. I know what the plate is I'm just trying to figure out how rare it is. It is a large size. The crossbelt plate must have belonged to one tuff Marine, the hook is broken and the anchor is almost worn smooth at the front and it looks like it was slashed, but it is beautiful from behind. Found with fisher 1280 with and Anderson dectector shaft.

I can see that there will be more pewter butons in the future on the market!![]()
I believe the pewter plate commemorates the victories of Lord Nelson, and also his demise. Never heard of one. I believe his ship was "The Invincible". Might be quite a rare find, as is, the Marine cross plate. Pretty impressive! CONGRATS!!!! Hogge
Lord Nelson's ship was the HMS Victory. The longest serving ship in the world (USS Constitution is the second longest) and still counting....

Agree with Woodland. I vote banner! Well done!!
PLEASE don't delete your posts. I had nominated that Brown Bess for the Banner.
If folks want to tell you that wood won't hold up on the bottom of a lake for 200 years, then they are a bunch of stupid Jerks.
Post away--and don't give a crap about what the Jerks say.
