Nice finds joesdigs!

?Joe....no,that in red is a link,click on it :icon_thumright:
I collect Tongue and wreath Buckles....know a thing or two about them, and have never seen any affiliation with Military of any type with this buckle...Just wanting to know

Ahhhh ok.. Well I have no source to say it is military... But it's pretty obvious it's a royal navy buckle.. Came from the same field as the royal navy surgeons button.. This one.. Can't imagine it's anything else? Unless you can shed some light on it?

Very nice finds! Congrats and HH!

...no,I cant, thats why I asked....and you can see the lengthy discussion it brought forth before....involving some of this sites foremost experts. One thing that jumps out to me,on mine is the construction is of what we see in 1880's- buckles...thats about all I know?Mine came from the Gold Fields Of Australia.I do know of a stamped brass two piece buckle that features a very similar Anchor that I am pretty sure has no British affiliation....or Military for that matter

those buttons...have you dated them as of yet? Fantastic finds by the way!!!!

My buckle has a number 8 stamped on it... The button is 1825/27 royal navy surgeon at sea. Very rare. Well it's hardly a parachute regiment buckle.. Unless they earned to drop like anchors lol... Yes I read the post on yours... Lots of opinions.. But I imagine it's navy.

:icon_scratch:..having a hard time sensing your De-meaner...I am merely searching for info..I dont recall mentioning anything about any Parachute Reg..Anyway good day and good luck

Ah no... That's just my sense of humor not in any way directed towards you or anything like that.. I really appreciate this site and everyone on it... And every opinion... As I learn more here every day than I ever did at school.. The parachute regiment statement was just my
Observation on the fact it's navy.. You never mentioned parachute

Now that's one sweet buckle. Congrats on the finds.

A few more pics after a little cleaning.. Can see some letters across the anchor top.. Think the last 2 are R N ? Royal Navy ? 2nd letter looks like a H not sure on the first .. S maybe.. S H R N
