Royal Regiment Box Plate?

[West Jersey Detecting]

I was cleaning out my jeep today and as I was checking over my trash I found the little pewter crown. Then I realized that it fit neatly with another piece and appears to be some type of badge [Update: thanks to Hogge for the possible box plate ID]. It was found near the Royal Regiment buttons (one is in my avatar) found two weeks back.

It is about one inch tall. Any help on this piece is appreciated.

Niel, That appears to be what's left of a box plate. I'm going to look at some of Rev. War Relics books to see if I can get a match. Have you tried, at all, to clean it a bit. That would help in ID if I could see the inscription, if any. AWESOME!

Royal Regiment of Artillery...just like yours.
