According to Terry N. Trantow's Catalogue of Lumber Company Store Tokens, Russ operated a mill at Arcadia in the 1920's, and one at Immokalee as well. The Immokalee mill was later sold to R. J. Hargroves and A. C. Frizzell, who opened a mill at Venus, FL. The Russ tokens were also used at the Venus Lumber Co. commissary.

The tokens were issued in denominations of 5, 10, 25, 50, and 100. The 5, 10, and 50 are rated R1 (common); the 25 and 100 pieces are less common, rated R4 and R5, respectively, on a scale of 1-10.
