Rusty big ring shaped object found in michigan.

I decided to metal detect in my own front yard again wishing I could find something and right when I enter the grass I got a zinc hit. After digging for a few minutes i unearthed this weird ring shaped object. I was wondering if someone could ID it for me. Heres a picture: (The quarter is there to show size.)
