Does anyone have any idea what this rusty piece of steel was? I dug it up at one of my CW spots with a bunch of other rusty items.
This piece is just under 7" long, has a hole through the center, and a hole (not fully through) on the other end.

The two pieces on the left that look like spikes are Gibb Keys. They were used to hold things like pulleys, flywheels and gears on a rould shaft. There are tapered and were driven into the slots until both pieces were locked together. All my hit & miss engines have them on the flywheels. Tony

The 7" long item could be a Lathe Dog. For use on metal turning lathes. Check Google and see what you think. Looks like you have the found some debris from a blacksmith's shop.
