There is a very good reason you see so much silver coming from the E-Trac users. The E-Trac is REALLY that much better. It's not "bells and whistles", it's functionality. Lots of Safari users out there, they just don't pull the silver like the E-Trac and CTX does.

I gotta disagree with Jason again on this subject. The Safari IS a silver sniffer too, but you just have to dig more holes since it gives a lot less target info than the Etrac. When my Safari sings out with the high pitched Minelab silver sound the silver is there, and it is just as deep as the Etrac. I hunt with an Etrac user and he rarely finds more good stuff than I do, but that is often just plain luck in getting the coil over a good target. I seriously doubt the Safari will miss any target the Etrac sees, but if you are a screen user you will need to dig more signals with the Safari. The Etrac will definitely sort out clad from silver better than the Safari, but like I said that just requires more holes.

I've never used a Safari. I got an ETrac earlier this year and I'm nearing 200hrs in field use. I learn more each time I turn it on. Best machine I've ever used.
My junk pouch is never empty, but I now dig alot less of it.
Silver Killer for sure. The flutey tones initially annoyed me. Not now. When I hear that sweet high tone, 90% of the time it's silver. Really
Worth every cent.

The audio options did the trick for me being an old longtime Sovereign user, love that tone hold setting, and also got tired of all the different tones, use only 4 tone setting now, loving it and can barely stand the Safari now !

Used the Safari for 2 years and then went to the ET. Went to the ET because of TTF. I had been hunting with 2 guys with the ET and I found as many coins as they did. Using TTF and a smaller coil aloud me to pull some coins that were masked by nails at old home sites. If you can swing the ET and hunt at old home sites then I would go that way. If you park hunt the Safari is the way to go.
