Went on an overnight backpacking trip on 5-23-08 here are a few of my pics. The tree in pic #1 was a common sight along the trail due to ice storms and a wet spring. The shelter in pic #2 was built in the 30's by the Civilian Conservation Corps. Pics #3 & 4 are a creek that traversed the trail.

Ah, very pretty. That old stone shelter is gorgeous. I'd love to have a house made of stone, but in California that's asking for trouble (eathquakes). So do you know where the CCC camp was located? That would be a good place to metal detect perhaps.

I don't know where the actual camp was, if it is in what is now the actual state park I don't think you can detect there. thanks for lookin'
