Do you think the heat-treated point
and the big white point to the right are the same point type?
Do you think the small point is just a resharpened point of the same type?
All come from one Site-so this is no trick question,it has a meaning to me as to what you think--------------So vote,vote,vote...............

Nice sunburnt collection...(lot of time ontop)Not real sure on type tho..sorry

Thanks
I think the Calf Creek culture heat-treated more then any Culture there...........
the later Cultures were spread out...........and I really dont think I have found a later hearth/firepit at that site
The group photo shows the use of the chert................The Caddo Culture did a lot of knapping there-but no heat-treating-.....but just a little way further I seen one of their Hearths-I found 12-Gary related artifacts there after a 7 inch rain..............!
The top three artifacts are Caddo...........the Gary point-my Late Woodland period type, then two Caddo Blades from same time period..............
The points in the poll
should be a little older........

Come on and vote ...............
All I wanted to know if you think a big White point like that could be resharpened as small as the heat-treated point?
Neogeo......................
My pride and joy I stampeded thru a while back.....................
Calf Creek would heat-treat Biface's for up to 3 times in Biface reduction-one reason for the flat wide Scraper tools...........
this is one solid Calf Creek frame
Flake in the Middle
Scraper on left
Biface reduction Blade on right
Adze-bottom...........................classic text book from Calf Creek sites
I' will be amazed at the amount of Calf Creek artifacts I have gathered from that site, for the rest of my life........................
If the collection could always be keep together...............The Scrapers,Adzes,Flake Tools will show the Quarry site to be in a World Class Site...........................A Calf Creek Quarry Site,N.W.Arkansas
