Ok this may be worth looking for if you are a local from the area. I was about 11 or 12 years old living near larkspur(1966-69) and one of the local kids stole a large amount of silver coins from his grandmother. I believe they were halves and dollars. The kid spent a good amount at a local toy store and didn't want to take the coins home. I was with him under a overpass when he just started throwing them around the area. I think I located the overpass on google maps and it would be worth a quick check with a detector. I believe the intersection is at Wornum Dr and Hwy 101. I can't find a map of that period but I think there used to be RR tracks going under 101 back then and I am sure lots of new construction has change it but google maps shows plenty of dirt and older trees around the overpass, anyway a bit of a long shot but if someone lives nearby have at it. I would guess that there were at least 40 coins tossed about. I would appreciate any info on results. Email me if you need more info.
