I drove to Questa NM yesterday thru the San Luis Valley and by the Great sand dunes. I wish I had better zoom to get some close-up's of the herd of Elk and Buffalo way out in the sage country. This end of the valley stretches for miles. I was told the San Luis valley is the widest valley between the Mississippi river valley and the San Joaquin Valley in California. This Buffalo herd in this valley is very much wild, as they are not raised domesticated as many are. It is rare to see them in this vastness. They don't like humans coming close to them and are very dangerous if approached. They will kill you.
