The gremlins got to my post and it didn't show so here we go again..

I had some aluminium plate in the shed and recently purchased a heavy gauge piece of aluminium tubing, so started to cut out the plate and before I knew it things started to take shape. I can't weld so I've riveted this together for now, will drop it into a workshop next week so they can do their magic. It already seems quite sturdy but I'll add a brace from the top of the scoop back to the handle for extra support.

Measurements are 8" wide 7" deep x 6" high.

Will add more pics below...

Hey mate,

I am not sure how long that scoop will last. I have bent a couple of handles already this year and an alloy bucket might bend in the wet sand.
This is my latest creation. It is big but not too heavy for me. It is all stainless apart from the handle. That is about 2.5mm gal.
I now dig less, waste less time on each target. targets are often now in the first scoop even if they are deep.
I am in Melbourne, where in AU r u?

Thanks for the pic of your scoop, I'm in Brisbane...I might just use the scoop I made as a prototype then get one made out of stainless as you have done, it looks good. Do you have much luck with it down there?

Hi Ozzygold, will ya use it in the water or sand?
How about a wood handle..........may help you in the water.
