Going to take a Sand Shark for a test spin, has a 10.5 coil. My beaches are fairly clean of iron and curious of the best settings for depth. Is VCO mode just for pinpointing or is it also a search mode? Thx for all and any input!! HH

I only use VCO mode myself. Normal can gain an extra lil bit of depth, so i'm told.

VCO all the time.

As for the other settings, you may want to start as mentioned in the manual. These work good. But don't be afraid of making changes, the machine works well and is easy to use.

Have fun.

Good luck coastie, every time i bust mine own i come back with enough busted up crab traps to build a chicken coup.

Normal mode; Pulse Width at 3/4 (230pm position), Threshold at around 1/2 (12-1pm position), so that it is barely audible. Have fun and BIG Gold!

Thx for the info!!
