So Im not a diver nor am I interested in Diving wrecks. I swing a metal detector on dry land but more than that, I am an avid reader of the history of the early west. Anyway, I recently read a book that was a diary from the early 1900's and had some information regarding shipwrecks and treasure etc (although the book had nothing to do with treasure, it was just a passing sentence in the book). I looked to see if I could coroberate the stories and they look to jive. I know that the area around the Santa Cruz Island and other Islands are sanctuaries so actually diving for anything is a big no no but I just found it interesting that my love for early western history and my love of artifact and gold hunting merged in this way.
