Yesterday I was finally able to get out and use my new shovel that I won in sask hunter’s contest. I can honestly say that this is the best shovel that I’ve ever used for metal detecting in an area where you can use a shovel but still want to leave a neat plug.
The shovel is well built with neat welds and the paint really makes it stand out - he painted mine bright red with "Smitty" in gray. The handle is black - it’s coated in a slightly rubberized compound that gives it a nice feel. The blade is also black and has serrated edges. I didn’t hit roots in my hunt and so didn’t make use of this feature but it’s good to know that if you need ‘em you got ‘em.
He will build yours to your specifications.
He’s a one man operation and I always prefer to buy from the small mom & pop operation as opposed to the Walmart’s of the world.
PM him if you're interested.
This is my first review of a product so please excuse my clumsy writing.
