Hunted on Saturday and found a few more old coins. I actually found my oldest to date. The first 10 minutes hunting I founds a no date indian head. We hunted for a total of about 3 hours. My uncle found a no date large cent...he was using a very old Nautilus metal detector. His 9 year old som found a 1903 V Nickle and I also found a no date 1800's dime thats very worn and has no reliefs on the obverse...and I found my oldest coin to date...an 1837 half dime thats very worn. When I saw it in the hole at about 6 inches I thought is was a watch battery at first...I didn't realize how small the were. My uncle also found a 1937 token of some sort...anyone know what it might be used for? Enjoy the pics.

SMOOTH NO CORRISON? INTRESTING. ???

From that site I have found 6 silver coins (2 barber dimes, standing liberty quarter, Barber quarter, this no date 1800's dime, and this 1/2 dime) and the only ones with corrosion were 2 barber dimes and a little on the Barber quarter---see attached picture. These came out of the ground like this with no cleaning...only rubbed the mud/dirt off of the coins with my thumb.

Very nice digs,,, WTG!!!
That's an interesting token... Those little have dimes do look funny don't they? When I found the one I have, I though at first it was play money, or something...
Good luck, & happy hunting~

You have an incredible site there, Daniel. Your NC soil must be kind to old coppers. Keep it up.
