And Junk prices are down from what I understand. I usually wait til spring they seem to be higher then.

:icon_thumright: Good thinking! I know people who are part time scrappers. It does pay.

I ask our THing club members to bring in their scrap copper and brass finds to each meeting. Sell it twice a year. Funds go into the club treasury for our club sponsored hunts / silver coins.

Wow! What a great idea! I am a member of two clubs here in northen California. I'm going to bring this up at tonight's meeting! :icon_thumleft:

Back in the mid 70's at a major liquid handling manufacturing firm we had a guy in the machine shop who would fill his thermos bottle with brass chips every night. He got popped with an almost full drum of brass. You betcha, the company prosecuted.

I save all that I find. Why stop with your brass and copper. I also save the metal and the pull tabs, can slaw. I have 4 buckets in the garage and when I come in from detecting I put my scrap finds in the right bucket. I all adds up at the end of the year. I normally sell in the spring as the price of scrap will be higher......Matt
