I find almost as many buffalo nickels as 2009 nickels. They were probably hoarded by the box full when new.

The 2009-P and 2009-D Jefferson Nickels may have some value due to having low mintage numbers but I question a video showing 2009-P and 2009-D Jefferson Nickels as Proof DCAMs.

I did NOT watch the video. The two coins shown in the screen shot are NOT proof coins. Not only are they business strikes, but I dare say that I may be seeing bag marks through the plastic, although I could be wrong on that point.

Time for more coffee.

Having the lowest mintage in decades isn't enough
The mintage numbers for 2009 nickels are low but not low enough to create a lasting high price.
Consider the value of a 1950D nickel (mintage around 2.6 million) and the lack of value to the 1950 philly (mintage of 9.8 million)
There are many other examples of pre 1960 Jefferson nickels with mintages under 20 million without any significant value!
For a Jefferson nickel to have numismatic value it needs to be a error coin or super low mintage (1938 DS, 1939 DS, 1950D)

I do save the 2009 nickels and dimes when I come across them because they are hard to find in circulation. Not very many Phillys here in Texas, nearly all of mine are Denvers. The best ones go in the grandkids albums. BTW, video guy is off a bit on the mintage of dimes figure prior to 2009 & in 2015. I think he meant to say 1 "billion" & "1.5 billion" not "trillion".
