Scabbard tip?

Found this a few weeks ago. Cleaned it up a bit. Was evidently cylindercal in shape but mashed flat. I have 3 points. One depicts a rim on one side( missing on other), another depicts a stamped pattern or design and 3 depicts a spec of gold gilt. For that matter , a close up indicates the whole thing was gilted . What is it?

looks like it very well could be the top (throat) part of a sword scabbard.

Looks like a smashed candle holder tube to me.
