And there is no doubt that a lot of valuables were buried in GA ahead of Sherman’s March to the sea. How many of those caches were never recovered? The recent gold coin find in a KY cornfield tells it all.

There was. We have a personal story in our family on my Mothers side of valuables being hidden from the advancing Yankee horde as they approached Atlanta. Georgians now have a new saying: "Gen. Sherman, where are you now when Atlanta needs you most?" 😃
