Hunted a middle school today found the usual, clad, pencil stubs, kids jewlery, and pull tabs. But I did not expect this or do I have any idea what it is. It is real thick copper, says Elizabeth D. G. REG. F. D. 1985 also has writting around the smooth edge of the coin PLEIDIOL is all I can make out. The back has a crown with a plant through it. The oval shape medalion says Cape Henry Lights, with two lighthouses Sorry for the lousy close ups......UPDATE: The ring is marked .925 inside Whooo Whooo My first ring

Nice ring makes you want to go dig more:treasurechest:! That half a heart pendant is nice also8-)

Quick research says the mystery coin is a British One Pound Coin. The writing on the edge is Welsh, somthing about be true to your country. Must have been a dropped show and tell object.

Yep, that's what I see also, cooper. UK 1 pound. The front is a leek in a coronet, representing Wales, and the full writing is "PLEIDIOL WYF I'M GWLAD ("True am I to my country" – from the chorus of the Welsh National Anthem).

That is one reason that I like to hunt school yards. The variety of targets is interesting. I have dug a few silver coins in the sand box areas and the fields. They are new drops that I am sure someone took to school to show others.

Some of my favorite spots as well. Kids sneak all kinds of stuff to school
