Scientists discover massive ‘supergiant’ gold deposit valued at $83 billion Opinion

Looks like a total BS article to me ... no facts, just some statement & opinion (It is titled as "opinion"...)
the article gives no location, other than "deep within the Earth’s crust" ...
The gold deposit was uncovered using advanced geological analysis and modeling techniques
...In other words, a software analytical program ... this is some dude at a keyboard, not anyone "hands-on" at a mining site ...

...My take is that this article was written to further fuel the day-to-day gold price manipulation, as blatantly evidenced in the precious metals market of late ...

The regular few manipulators making money while a lot of others loose ... I'm calling BS...View attachment 2242679

That is why it is posted as there is no details. Most will agree with you at this point. If more follow up happens to come forth to back this up, we shall see what it is.

Perhaps these types of reports are being generated by other countries due to the economic markets right now or for other reasons?

"A gold deposit valued at $83 billion has major implications not only for science, but also for global markets and resource planning. Discoveries of this magnitude can influence gold supply forecasts, long-term pricing expectations, and national mining strategies. While actual economic impact depends on extraction feasibility, the sheer size of the deposit has already captured international attention."
So let's break it down.
China has discovered 1000 metric tons. $83 Billion worth.
It will take 20-50 yrs to extract this amount as the thermo heat and pressures are a big problem.

It amounts to 1.4 yrs of gold consumption that China requires.

So let's call BS, on the word salad article.

Let's discuss GOLD Exploration;

I cut my teeth in the world of Oil exploration and geophysical oil well logging. I began as a tech fresh out of the USAF. I learned the instrumentation from the inside - out! Fast forward fifty years...

Technology has developed as we all know with the advances made in computer hardware and software. There are those that call BS on that too! Welcome to my lair! :)

Ask... Does a metal detector work?

"Tools" have been developed that provide imaging of the earth to depths approaching 400 feet using helicopter borne survey instruments. The instruments are "metal detectors" on steroids. They use multiple frequencies multiple coil systems with a combined cesium magnetometer, high speed computer data acquisition system, GPS receiver, radar altimeter. The company is Fugro/CGG. These surveys are being and have been conducted all of the world. The science is proven, verifiable, repeatable and peer reviewed.

I have become active here on the TreasureNet forums sharing all that I know on the subject with other members of the forum.

The system is a Digital Helicopter Electromagnetic system known as DIGHEM. I have been downloading databases of Survey data on all of the Gold mining districts in Alaska! The data shows where GOLD and other precious and base metal deposits are!

Stick around. There's more! :)

BTW....

Doing the math on 1000 metric tonnes of GOLD:

1 metric tonne = 1,000,000 grams.

1,000,000 grams /31.1 grams per troy ounce = 32,154 troy ounces

32,154 troy ounces x $5000 per troy ounce = $160,771,704
x 1000 metric tonnes = $160,771,704,000

Total (Gross) = $160.772 billion

Yes, it's understood there are costs of mining extraction and refining. :)

Depends on mineralogy, access, mining method, dilution, recovery, refining.

Stories with little technical details should be considered click bait IMHO. :)

Oh, yes!

It's a requirement for a large mining company traded on stock exchanges.

That is just what this cat was thinking as well and thanks for pointing this out.:headbang:

You gotta wonder how much was written by AI. The original supposed finding might be real but wording in places of this article are sus.
Top picture says "gold and hammer in a table". That's stupid.
"Gold blending in the rocks" another.
I reckon, typical for today the lazy author just punched in the info and let AI do the rest.
Couldn't even use real pictures of gold, their as fake as they come.
Personally I don't give credibility to anything written this way.
Its lazy journalism.

Being written in part by AI is not what counts if there are no reports on production and if there is no "Discovery" being made first.
Perhaps being written for click bate reasons.

@geowizard ...

Hello ...The "BS" I am referring to (1st response on this topic) is to the manner in which this "news" was presented. Noted, it was an "opinion" by someone.

The "BS" factor is that the "news" portion of the article lacks details relating to the the tenants of basic journalism: "who / what / when / where ", & being specific about the facts. My comment was to point out that this word-salad article may or not may not be true.

I have no knowledge as to today's capabilities in this arena, & gladly respect & defer to, your opinion, based on your decades of experience. Capability isn't the issue (of what I stated). Yes, metal detectors give a signal when the magnetic field is disturbed. Apologies if I wasn't clear as to why I call "BS".

I noted that this article appears amid the wildly fluctuating precious metals market, & to me, because of the lack or real details, appears to be more of a propaganda piece, rather than a factual occurrence. I base this opinion on decades of my sifting through "BS" in order to find the truth.

I agree that this topic thread is likely BS. With that being said I decided to run with it to see if there is any truth mixed in with the topic / findings.
The old expression of 'Panning out' comes to mind here as far as some grains of truth could be mixed in.

There are more uhhs than ahhhs?
This could be the reason for more people to click on it...........Just saying........could be used for propaganda reasons?????????
