Score!!! and first '64 Ken!!!

Went to the doctor today because I'm really sick the day before school starts, bleh. I felt like some treasure hunting could cheer me up, and today was the second day ever my banks actually had some halves on hand. So I went to my teller who holds halves for me, and she had $20CWR, I also got $100MWR dimes, and gave her some nice foreign coins to add to her collection, including a chinese coin from the mid 1700's. It was all skunk, I went to my CU to dump into the counter, no silver rejects either. I ask the teller if she has any halves, and she says "Yes, I have $28 worth, you want'em?" "Yes please!" They were all loose, ...and half of them were silver. I ended up with 27 40%ers and my first 90%er, a '64 Ken!!!!! (I added pics to show "the silver bell curve".) ;D :laughing9:

Awesome, I still just do a double take every time I hear a story like this, or expirience something similiar myself. The thought of anybody out there, who is smart enough to become a teller, (not saying its rocket science... just sayin)... I mean, every teller at some point had a job interview right? by a manager usually more than just 1 if I were to guess... So I am guessing you must have "average" intelligence or above just to get hired at a bank. Maybe Im wrong. Point is, everytime I hear about a bank employee handing over silver for F.V. without even being aware of it, it just blows my mind.... Lucky for us though, it happens and I would say it happens alot... I am amazed.

Great score. (in my book anyways.)

Chris.

It blows your mind because you spend large amounts of time hunting it. But 7 months ago, I had absolutely no idea there was Silver in old coins. You could have shown me 4 Silver Dimes for instance and said you had $11 or whatever, and I would have told you point blank, you only have 40 cents.
