Got in a short hunt with the boy today and scored on my 8th silver dime and 11th silver of the year.

I got silver today and the boy got big copper, King George II with a counrt stamp...we believe.

I've found mercury dimes and love them. I haven't however found a KG or LC so I'm jealous of your son's find. Tell him congratulations!

It's been an unreal year for me so far. I only found 46 silvers total for all of last year. I found a KG II half penny a couple weeks ago too but, mine is toast. I only found one large cent all last year so the half penny was sweet. The boy has 4 big coppers already this year himself.
We're both upgrading metal detectors in the next couple weeks so hopefully the year will only get better for both of us. HH

You and "the boy" have been killing it this year!

Instead of upgrading detectors, perhaps you two should downgrade. You are already doing WAY too good and at this pace you will get 100 silvers this year and "the boy" will get 36 big coppers! It would be more challenging with a low end machine... seriously... just think about it...

Lol!! Thanks!! Our Whites Coin Master Pro probably isn't too bad. Our other detector is a Bounty Hunter Lone star.
The boy found the KG with the Bounty Hunter yesterday and it's found it's share of good finds. Not knocking the Bounty Hunter in any way.
We do feel and especially with half frozen ground that we are walking past targets? With our up grades we plan to re-visit every property we've ever hit already just to see what we did miss.
It was hoping to hit 50 silvers last year and came up short, if I hit 50 this year I'll work on hitting 100 the following year. Lol

I am glad to hear that "the boy" is 19... whew... I was imagining a 10 year old there digging up large coppers! That would really be tough to have Dennis the Menace spanking you. "...hey Mr. Wilson what's this copper disc..."
