I got to thinking about the scrap bucket finds made by Silver Searcher recently and decided to go through mine. I didn't find anything Roman or Celtic but think I did very well. :)

I found two more heel plates and a broken spur. :o Now I got to remember where I found them. :icon_scratch:

Opinions on the smaller plate. Heel or toe. :dontknow:

Good Luck
Randy

I think everyone should take this time while it's cold and search their buckets. I still have two more to search.

Very interesting. The things we throw away and not think twice about. Might be something we should do.

Great stuff! I have found some real goodies in the scrap buckets in the past--like a bent-up CW era knapsack hook, bits of an officer's spur, and a valuable dog tax tag from the 1880s.

Always a wise idea to check the buckets and then check again. I recycle what I don't keep--iron included--but I CLEAN every piece of brass I find and then I keep the buckets on hand for a while just to be certain.

Best Wishes,

Buckles

Really nice finds
