The morning session was our last chance to try a field that I've been meaning to do for some weeks. It had a Spring crop but the farmer was happy for us to dig in it. Cru'dad had tried this field without any recordables but I wanted to try it before we crossed it off. We tried it for 2 hours & had some Pistol shot/Musket Balls, Medieval Buckle, Scrappy & a Seal Matrix. Just enough to keep it on the bottom of the list. We then tried the next door field by the Church but had little success after 1 hour.
After lunch we moved to the Newly discovered Roman Site to do some more tyre tracks & ended up with another 5 Coins after 1 hour 15 minutes. As luck would have it we saw the land-owner for the first time & he was over the moon that he had a Roman Site on his land.

Morning 3 Hours;

1 Scrappy
15 Pistol/Musket Balls (maybe our best total in 3 hours!)
19th C Ornate Horse Rein Guide (a first)
Medieval Buckle
Medieval Mount
14th C Seal Matrix with Hawk Catching a hare.:icon_thumright:

After Lunch;
5 Roman Coins - 3 OK8-)
Shoe Buckle
Bits...

Wow, I am amazed at how well some of those bronze Romans come out of the ground! Were they from an area where no fertilizer was used? That seal is a great find!

It's odd, as its in a heavy clay environment on ploughed land with fertilizers, so they are real survivors. (It helps they are slightly better quality metal)

GREAT Finds! they are in great condition

It’s nice when you have farmers who are happy and over the moon
in their interactions with you.
Great finds

Very Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Very nice coins Cru! Your land owner is great, when telling a farmer here about a historic site on his land most are scared to see archies soon... :laughing9:

Yeap, his 2nd statement was he wasn't interested in the money, so thats good news also.
