I've heard several on here mention that they just use a screwdriver to pop coins out of the ground. Can anyone explain this to me a little better, or maybe post a video of you doing it?

Thanks!

search popping coins on youtube. plenty of demos. Some have detectors that indicate depth or if you can tell it's shallow (use pinpointer to see if it's near surface first) then you can probe to "hit" target and then go below it and just pry it out. all without digging big plug. just small tear in ground/grass. Some probe with small brass rod with ball tip on it first to keep from scratching or damaging possible valuable coin. GL and HH.

Several videos on Youtube about coin popping. Most are good and give you the idea of how its done.

If you have access to grinder, use it to smooth out the edges of the screwdriver.

It lessens the change you will scratch the coin.
