scrounger in the ocean at ft myers bch

so i making it down to florida at ft myers beach. this is my first ever time in the water

actually at the ocean. after 2 yrs of waiting the pirate headhunter did not perform well

in the salt water. i ended up driving 300 miles to purchase a used whites surfmaster 2.

this an older vlf water machine from 1990 or so. but was the only bona fide used water

machine i could lay my hands on for a decent price. it does do salt although i dont think

im getting great depth. and a definate battery hog.! just learning how to salt beach

hunt . i feel victorious just to find and recover a target. been out 3x now.

got 4 large bangle type earrings 3 of which disintegrated in my find pouch. the other

might be silver. and a gold looking portion of an earring. might be gold but unmarked

That's unfortunate about the detector though, especially having to drive 300 miles!! $:-\$

The Pirate Headhunter looks like a good machine but I guess from all that I've read they just don't like salt water.

I hope you have better luck over the coming days with the Whites.

Cotton, you guys are my entertainment...can't stop laughing....

Back to the subject of the discussion; scrounger, I hope you find some good stuff. There is a video by OBN from a hunt down there (or it might be Naples), but either way it's a good video to watch. It might have a few spots that you could hit and might offer some better oportunities if it's sanded in where you're at.
