i needed to post seperately here due to having
dial up only out here in the stix.
i made a post b4 on the reg hunts page and it froze
every time i tried to load it.
i arrived a bit early for 2 pre hunts.
the one pic of me n soup i am holding
a very bent spoon and a large copper fitting
which were about all that was found in pre hunt 1.
pre hunt 2 poduced a wheat and a period pin
of a victorian lady.
friday we went to the ghost town . wow exciting
my first stop was behind an old house
where i stomped down the weeds under an old
clothes line pole set. heh heh this is gonna score.
but nothin. finally the palmolive token real deep.
we moved more to the town center.
silver is being found but not me. geez.
managed the copper radio faceplate
2 indians 5 wheat.
sat iz the race track got a wheat.
back to ghost 1/2 day coins but still no silver
another 7 wheat 1 indian no silver grrrr.
sunday we were starting later
some had already departed. the rest were off to the
race trak for another try.
i missed the bus by 10 min and it changed
everything.
juan and etrac 007 were still at the alternate site
when i arrived. we visited a half hour.
after they left im leisurely detecting.
under a big dandelion there it izzzzzz
a 1946 roosie. no ones around.
geez it seemed so unreal here in manicured grassland.
and i was out there in the wild ghost town
and couldnt break silver.
hmmm well one got missed here n i found it.
a bit later a 1916 barber dime in great shape wow.
things were looking much better.
gettin some silver to go w my pennies.
i had to anser nature and changed areas.
holy cow A LARGE SILVER 1952 franklin half
it never rains but pours. next a 1947 roosie.
and last a 23 merc. 3 run hr. barber.. merc...roosie
i had found 5 silver at the alternate site wow.
post hunt spent the day in the rain while soup rested
right back to the areas that had produced silver
this is gonna be easy...... no silver just clad.
did it really happen seemed so unreal.
bang bang bang ......nothin ...huh
post hunt 2 found a 1841 seated dime to complete my grand slam on dimes.
in reviewing my humble pennie finds from the ghost town
i found one indian to be an 1867
one of the wheats was a 1911-s
yeah no silver but not so bad after all.
