Today my plan was to finish off the last 1.5 acres of this field (See above). We were not expecting much & we just wanted to cross another small patch off the list. Our hopes were realistic & were aimed at a 1 good find for the day, maybe a good button. It took us just over 3 Hours to complete the field.
Sometimes the sun just shines out your ar*e, & it was Cru'Dad's turn on our first run of the day to get a coin that had no business being there. A complete oddball find for this land! Maybe a bit damaged but we love it all the same.

Wonderful relics as usual! I just can't imagine what it is like finding such ancient artifacts. Is that a boy's image on the Denarius? I confess no knowledge regarding these coins, and find them very interesting.

Excellent finds Cru. Please tell dad congrats on his Roman silver.

Wishing you and your family a happy holiday season sir!

Cru'Dad's got the full attribution.
However, that sounds spot on to me.

Another amazing find! The NY international coin is coming up soon and maybe I can buy a Geta LOL.BTW poor Geta was murdered by his brother Caracalla after their father's death.

Yes, he was a boy Emperor.

The emperor kind of like Edward the 6th. Referred to as the tutor king. I love those finds man great job. I found a coin in Clinton ms dating back to the reign of Edward the 6th that was struck between 1549 to 1551. I would love to here the story of how it came to rest on the lawn of city of Clinton water department. Lol. Great finds.

Nice going on the Roman Silver, the best finds are sometimes the least expected.

That is a cool looking impression of a Sand Dollar on the pice of lead below the George VI

It's one of the more common patterns used on Lead Tokens. No-one really knows what this type was used for. We call it the flower pattern.

Congrats again my fellow field buddy. WOW As long as I have been on this site I have green eyes for your sites. It must be so exciting finding a coin that old, very cool indeed.
Congrats to both of you, so cool that you share the same passion, happy holidays from New Jersey.

Cheers, I know what you mean about our researched sites, but this field was a total blind punt. No good reason this coin was here other than a nearby Roman Road.

now that's a fantastic surprise! Congratulations on the sweet Roman Silver!
