SEARCHING FOR A "POCKET" OF SILVER

Yesterday I was home to allow contractors access to my apartment. They are currently upgrading the Intercom System.
As soon as they were done, I loaded up the CTX and headed for an area that has quite a few lawns. Some have been generous with silver coins during previous hunts.
Most of the parks in NYC that offer a few acres of grass,, have been searched over the years by other metal detector owners. Some of these hunts took place long before we were allowed into the parks with metal detectors. We didn't have permits back then because there was no such thing. I tend to forget that,, when I accuse others of hunting without a permit. It has been said, "Make sure your house is clean, before criticizing others."
The point I guess I'm trying to make is that it is becoming increasingly harder to find a park that may contain a pocket of silver that others have overlooked. I know some say that "Where there is Wheat, There is Silver." I believe that the presence of Wheat Pennies alerts you to the time period of when the park was being used and when coins were being lost. That doesn't necessarily mean that the area where you are finding wheat pennies, contains silver. Especially with some of today's machines and the Sharpies who know how to cherry pick. I know from personal experience that I have had hunts where I would find 10 to 20 wheat pennies, and not a single silver.
I enjoy finding wheat pennies and on numerous hunts I have found a stray silver among the wheat. I don't think anyone will argue over the saying of,, "Where there is Silver, There is Silver!"
I came upon a lawn yesterday that gave up a Mercury Dime. About 50 feet from that find, I recovered another Mercury dime. It didn't stop there. Within 10 feet of the second silver was a 3rd Mercury Dime. Three silver coins, spread across a fifty square foot area qualifies as a "Pocket of Silver", (In my books). As previously stated, it doesn't happen often, but when it does, I have to believe that I have come across a pocket that others have missed.
I will return to this lawn and go over it again.

Looks like a fun hunt to me.

About that saying? I've always countered with this : "Where there's Wheats there's Silver!......or..... there used to be." ;)
