First of all I have not posted here much in quite some time...My apologies.
Last fall I was talking(texting) to the guys I hunted with about the possibility of getting together and searching for the location of a camp site that to my knowledge no one had found or documented finding. One of them answered "If you find it ;We will help you dig it." :(
So when I could I went looking. Last week I found A camp..... Don't believe it's the one I meant to find but here are some of the pics:

The Unit camp I've been searching for was supposed to be issued Cosmopolitans and Sharps carbines; While I found 1 Sharps it has been fired and the Balls are drops so I don't believe this is the campsite I'm looking for.
So I will keep looking. I have marked all the spots where there was a good find. The camp lead looks to be excess lead from a bullet pour. (imho)
Also the last ball I found measured .50 cal ( smaller than other 3 ) and has what I think are teeth marks. Feel free to chime in what your opinion on what those marks are
As always HH and GL

Nice finds congrats good luck on finding the campsite

The .50 caliber ball is probably from a carbine, which the cavalry would have been carrying. The teeth marks are from a rodent liek a squirrel.

That's a great start I always wished there were sites like that where I live. Good finds

Congratualtions on the successful researching and detecting of a new site! :occasion14:
