Searching quicksand

I live near the Red River in North Texas....very near the cattle drive crossings of the 1800's. All the neighbors along the river have family stories passed to them about the dangers of quicksand along the Red. Recently a friend told me of a spot on the river, at his Ranch, where his father and grandfather witnessed a team of horses and huge cargo wagon ...full cargo wagon...become fully enveloped in a quicksand area. The driver even went down trying to save the team and load. I was wondering if it is still there and how deep. With the drought and low water levels this could be a great recovery.

I Never thought about drought vs Quicksand,
But if your Sure it dried up, I Guess it couldn't hurt to try
Getting a signal.

I'm only Guessing it could have Sunk to "Jabip"
as we say But ya never Know.
Of course the deeper you dig,
the More odds of reaching wet Quicksand

Along the same lines.....a few years ago a paddle wheel steam ship wreck was found in the same area. You can now see the wreckage very well in the sand bars. The University of Texas has "declared" it their property so.....there it sits.

In the South Canadian river in Ok there have been found all sorts of things, including longhorn cow skulls, bison bones, old copper doctors medicene bottle case, Indian relic's, etc.......
I have sank in up to my knees before, pretty scary, they say to sit down & roll out, but I walked out fast.
