This past spring Lisa and I had the opportunity to dig at a field that turned out to be a very good site . We've waited all summer for the high temps to give way and the field to be plowed. Saturday was our day to get back out there. We were extremely excited to see what we may have left behind the last time. We had walked that field for two days on the first hunt and dug stuff up till we just didn't have any more positive signals left. (That, and we were exhausted! :P ) The area we could get to both times is/was limited to a small area, but we had found some exciting items. With the field being freshly plowed, my thoughts were that there would be more keepers to be found.

We get out the gear and get to hunting. There was pottery and glass everywhere, but first couple of hours neither one of us has anything to speak of. By the end of the day, I had found a few pieces of melted lead, another Horstman Bros button back and a few other little buttons, a pocket knife and a little decorative brass what's it and other little bits and pieces. Apparently the first time around we had found most all that was going to be found there.
We hope to get back there this winter when we can expand our area of hunting.
Not as many finds as the first time around, but I had a great time kicking off the fall hunt season! I'll add these to my collection from that site.
