It was the monthly low tide-tide cycle so the objective was an accessible narrow trench that stretched about a hundred yards behind three older, out of the way, condo units that were located about a mile down the beach from the closest access point. Armed with a new CZ-21 with the 10.5 coil, it took about 5hrs to hunt the entire trench and its rim. Nearly all of the targets came from the bottom of the trench with the exception of a few coins, and nearly all of the targets were deep, say somewhere in the 8 to 12 inch range. The exception here is the large .925 chain, which was only about 5 - 6” deep. The curious thing is the absence of gold, not a single piece of it could be found in the entire trench, yet, this trench held numerous targets so I suspect if there was any gold in the trench, (and I’m fairly certain there is), then it was simply out of the reach of my chosen machine for the day. At the end of the day it was a decent hunt, two silver chains, two silver rings, a handful of coins, and some other interesting trinkets. It was nice to have another CZ back in my hands and I was really impressed with the performance of the larger spider coil. Happy Hunting!

Your finds are always nice, congratulation!!!

well, you got some sinkers. were they deep? just two or three more inches may have gotten the gold:dontknow::BangHead: i would love to take a dozer out at low tide and remove about two feet of sand and see what happens!
congrats on the big chain!

congrats on the big chain!

Yep, sinkers were pretty deep. Part of the problem is all the soft sand in the bottom of most of these trenches. Some spots are even a lot deeper then others before you get to anything firm. Quite often you never do. :laughing7:

SWEET
sounds like a fun hunt!

bigscoop, you got some very nice treasures..I love the silver chains and rings! :headbang:

Good luck on the next hunt!

Nice silver haul,great hunt.

Very nicely done Bigscoop. I wonder why so many spoons show up in beach finds.

I hunted this trench on the 5th, made this post on the 6th, hiked back to that same trench today only to find it was completely filled back in. That's two feet of sand in just a couple of days and I'm seeing this same thing all along my area of coast. This is why I don't like the monthly low tide cycle, because the increase in water volume exchange between tides brings in too my darn sand. I would much rather hunt the monthly high cycles.
