Hello!
Any idea what/when this is and what it might be worth? I refinish furniture as a hobby and I don’t want to destroy something that’s special. No makers mark that I can find, other than the back being stamped with a “309”

Nice piece, looks aged, definitely does not look like modern construction. Anything marked on the bottom?

Hi, no markings that I could see via camera, I’ll try to look more thoroughly tomorrow

I have some problems when trying to put a value on something that's old! I have read that if you clean / refinish a item you'll drop it's value ! They say people want it in original condition ,and I understand that position ! BUT there again I like to see items in the best shape they can be and to devalue it seems wrong to me BUT there again I also like original condition. SO MY POINT IS : How does a person put a value on a item (car ,furniture, house , NA artifact ETC.) I guess a person can look it up on the internet to see what it would sell for , and how bad a person want's that item , OR what it cost the seller/owner values it OR how much it cost him to acquire it himself . you tell me how to figure it out. Maybe this ought to be in a different forum ??? Mods are always welcome to move it except to the trash can :notworthy:

Hi! I’m open to forum recommendations, newbie here. I usually take stuff that would otherwise be trashed and rehab it- this is the first time I’ve had a “which way should I go” piece. Less concerned about the $ and more about the need to preserve if its unusual.
