Well actually you are correct... it states a friend did it...

" a friend of mine bought it for 300 and sold it for 565"

265 dollar profit...

IN 1906.

yea I need a time machine :laughing7:

Heck ! with a time Machine, I could go back & Buy Manhattan.

though I don't know if it's worth it :tongue3:

It was purchased for just above half its obvious value...(15 dollars above half)
I would assume that the person who purchased (the buyer at 565) purchased it at a fair price as well.

These thoughts are what prompted my response.

Little guy gets it again. heh

Heh... buy Manhattan ?

Worth it ?

Property verses gold... hmmm

Gold.

:)

Whenever in doubt.

Invest in gold.

The main difference between gold and property is...

Property needs to "unloaded"...

Gold unloads itself. :)

Methinks the nugget price was greatly exaggerated considering 1906 gold was valued somewhere around $20/ozt. and a marble sized nugget is nowhere near 15 ounces ($20X15=$300). Maybe pesos vs. $ were lost in the translation. Just saying.

i guess maybe it depends on the marble :tongue3:
