I have been using the 12x15 SEF coil the past year with GREAT success.
I was wandering if any others have tried the SEF 15x18 with the Excal ? Tyring to weigh the Pro-Cons on this setup. I tend to do mostly wet-soft sand searching, occasional water.

I use the 15X18 on my Sov GT, it is a great coil but heavy with out a harness.....

Like you, I use the 12 x 15 a lot. I played with a 15 x 18 but like TH says, you'll need a harness with it. I'm still debating getting one just for the added coverage.

I always hunt with a harness, I have hunted with 15x18 for many hours using the harness

I use a 15x12 sef on my Minelab 1000 and have great results. I use the anderson long shaft and I tell you that shaft really is awesome. The SEF coil really goes deep. One thing about the shaft. I went and bought a second long shaft from a seller in West Palm. He had the over and under shaft on his Excal II . After he tried my long shaft he was a believer in the difference in weight. It really makes a difference and you can swing a lot longer.

Anyone know the weight on the 15x18 ? or the difference between the 13x15 & 15x18

I use the straight shaft as well , with a remote pinpoint.

I would love to have the remote PP. I probably with wait until OBN is open for business again and see about getting the remote PP done.

You can get it done by Barry at Kellyco too. I think the charge is $100 for the mod, but not positive...

Mr.Excavator - Are you hardwired or are you using a connector?

I hardwired mine. You can make the a remote very simple like I did. It works great and with the flip of a pinky finger you can go back and forth.

I already have all the mods, been using them for quite a while now. Just need/want to keep things down to one machine and still looking for a better coil connector option. I was hoping you had come up with one. :laughing7: Thanks!
