Detector(s) used
bandido 2 umax
Hi Friends , I pulled my Tiger Shark out of the closet a couple weeks ago and it would not power up ,Sent it to Tesoro they said they had to soldier some leads in it , my question is how could the leads break after its been sitting in closet all winter with no batteries in it , i just had it repaired a year or so ago , Its getting. kinda expensive every time i wanna use it i haft to send it to tesoro , This round of repairs cost me like 70 bucks countin shipping , and yes when its working its deadley on just about anything. i wanna hunt , And make no mistake i love tesoro i have two other detectors from tesoro so i aint missing nothing , So any idea guys why the leads would break ! ? :BangHead::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead:

Odd. I have the Tesoro land machines. I have dropped mine, thrown it, sat on it, got it soaking wet, snowed on, half buried it, dropped it and dragged it half across a highway, and never a problem.

Yours is a really odd situation. Wish I could be of more help.

Could have dropped something on it in the closet, banged it getting something out, gremlin infestation, anything. Too bad you're not the original owner. You just don't know the history of a used machine. It could have been "..dropped mine, thrown it, sat on it, got it soaking wet, snowed on, half buried it, dropped it and dragged it half across a highway.." :laughing7:

Could also be cold solder joints.....

Could also be cold solder joints.....

Wonder if salt is slowly eating it away from a trip to the ocean by the original owner....

I would also check what else may be in closet stored with it. Mothballs? Pool cleaning chemicals, chlorine? Something that might eat electronics?

nah wasnt in a closet full of moth balls or pool chemicals ,,wasnt drug across rd or sat on or buried ,thats my baby and it has been in my closet dry and temp controlled 73 in summer 75 in winter ,,funny how things happen like that ,,didnt even have batteries in it for the winter , its one of the older tiger sharks that yu can remove the coil ,,i love the thing but its getting awful expensive to keep !

Understand, only things Ive seen in my 40 year career that night apply. Good luck.

Keep it anyway! Sh*t happens.
