I stopped by my local Wells Fargo to inquire about ordering halves. They said they only order for members and by joining and opening up an account they will be able to order some for me. So I joined up. There's another branch that's a bit further away that said they could order halves for me without a membership, but from what I hear having the membership makes the process much easier. Did I make a good decision?

I did get one 40%er from the teller tray, and my first box should be arriving in about a week. :)

It can't hurt. Occasinally you'll run into a bank, or a certain branch of a bank that will just simply refuse to allow you to buy and/or dump unless you are a member.

Oh, its much better to have an account...I can actually call my bank from work and have them order halves for me..and then they call me when they are ready to pick up...and WF is one on my banks I do this with

Yep! It's always a good idea for CRHers to have a few different accounts. Makes things easier. Sa hi to Sara for me!

Since the number of coins keeps increasing, I have opened up 3 other accounts at banks with multiple branches. I have over 20 banks I can order from as well as dump at. Makes it much easier to get rid of 1K at a time with multiple ones to choose from. Also, I can spread them out so I am only dumping at same bank about 1 time every 2 weeks. Just a tip - If you have children under 18, open up accounts in their names. No minimum balance required.

Ive got over a dozen accounts now. You need to keep track of fees. Minimums and inactivity are the main two. Citizen now charges for paper statements.

Yes several of the banks I hold accounts with have recently added this paper statement fee and the activity fee's are another to be aware of. I'm looking at closing some of my accounts now because of it.
