I purchased this set of 5 ceramic items from an estate. According to the owner, it was purchased in China. What are they? Does anyone know what is written on the bottom of them? Each one measures 2 3/8" long x 1" wide x 1/2" high. (small)

Thank you!

they look like little sauce cups for mixing soy. they are packaged like tourist items you find in the 100 yen shop or airport as a quick obligatory gift. many Japanese, Chinese and Korean inexpensive gifts are packaged like yours.

They are used to put your chopsticks on and are of Japanese style. They are not expensive and come in many designs.

I thought I would translate what the box says below the 7-474.

箸置 zhuzhe (place to put your chopsticks) 箸 zhu is one meaning of chopsticks but in Chinese we usually say 筷子 kuaizi. 置 zhe means place/put.

紙風船 zhi feng chuan which means paper boat (paper wind boat) which is the design style of your ceramic chopstick holders.

They are like the Japanese style paper boats
