Went back to the 1860's house and found two coins in the 1 1/2 hour there. First dig was the 2 Cent piece(first of the year) at about three inches. Coin looked better before I cleaned it, but going to give it a bath in the olive oil, but not going to give it much hope. Second and last coin was the 1875 Shield Nickel, also the first of the year. Both coins were found around the area that were stables! Made a detour to a Park in Ohio I've hit before and found a first for me, the ring has emeralds, two are missing as well as a small diamond. I've already had the stones checked and the diamonds real, emeralds natural, and for $160 I can replace the stones, and have the two stones that are loose fixed as well. I know its nice, but not sure I want to spend the bucks. Going to get it appraised, then figure what to do. This is gold ring #25!

Hey BDoo, am sure you've got a bag of gold this year as well, just haven't posted to get everyone excited!!

Hey, Jack, those three finds are very nice!!

I'm sure I've passed up many gold rings in the parks I've been hunting. More times than not, I dig those low hits and find foil/beaver tails/aluminum scraps. There's a plethora of those trash targets in our parks there. I'd be too tired out to find all my silver if I was bending down to dig every low conductor in the nickel range or lower. Oh well, I guess when the deep high conductors are all gone from our parks here, I'll have no choice but dig all the low tones.

Congrats,

Hey Dan, I'm sure you've put that coil over ALOT of rings in those Parks and I think with all that silver the other stuff can wait. Many don't dig those foil/beaver tails and pass on the gold. Odds are if you digging a few sounds along the way a gold ring will be popping up occasionally! But as long as those Parks produce silver you might as well corner the market!!
