Managed to get out for just over 4 hours with only being rained on once...
Started as usual on The Potato Field for Cru'dad's Birthday (not today but this week) Hunt & he got the first hammered on his 2nd dig, whilst on our way to the grid spot. Normally the kiss of death, but today the kiss of life, as I got a further 3 hammered.

The Potato Field (3 hours):

17th C Halfpenny Token
Jetton
Spur bit
Bit of a Tudor Dagger Chape
1/2 Spec Buckle
Saxon Stirrup Terminal (we hoped for this as we have had 1 mount & 1 terminal from that area, & now we have the full set. I thought the whole stirrup must of busted off & got lost)
14th C Medieval Seal Matrix - Has a curled up mouse, inscription reads - WAROMEI TOMON :icon_scratch: (Strange name)
4 Hammered:
1/2 Reale of Ferdinand and Isabella, c.1469-1502
Edward I Penny
Henry VI Halfpenny
Charles I Penny

Sewage Site (1 hr 15 mins):

3 Tudor Buttons
Broken Medieval Buckle
18th C Pastry Jigger
17th C Belt Mount

I recall your test pits...not a grain of dirt left behind and no sign of a pit being dug...you used a tarp I recall...
Correct, I've been in very fussy gardener's backyard & they had to ask where I had dug. After filling in a metre square by 4.5ft deep hole in manicured lawn.

You will, just find the right ploughed field & make sure you GRID & not wander.:metaldetector:
I'm trying to spread my new catch phrase:
''GRID ON BABY''
(a little like Fish On!)

I pride myself on the drunken sailor technique of detecting a site-then on the return hunts a reverse drunken sailor technique-then on the follow up return I use the stagger left/right diagonal technique. Then only then will I bite the lower lip, calm the inner soul, and try to grid it out-just tweak out the stragglers.

Oh I know it's the best way and I tip my hat at your skill in sticking to the best way to get them out of the soils.

Cru' would love to see the medieval seal matrix restored....have you restored any? It would be cool to use it again...always look forward to seeing what you have unearthed
Brought some cheap antique wax:
