Hi All,

I dug this "sexy boot" metal item earlier today. At first, I thought it was an old pocket knife but now I'm not sure. Does anyone have any clue what it might be?

A quick search yielded a lot of variations on the theme, but not your particular knife. Which might lead one to think it rare. Most used the heel as a bottle opener, yours looks like it predated that usage. And as said above the fashion is pretty old. I would go to a knife collecting forum and seek some input there. Here are a couple found in a quick search.
I think yours is considerably older.

Probably very late 19th century or early 20th. By 1930 that style of leg covering was done.
Thanks again! I'm looking around for a match on the internet so hopefully I'll find one.

Is it safe to assume that since the heal is not conducive to opening a crown top bottle, which later lady leg knives were, that this particular knife dates to before 1906 - the year the crown top became widely adopted for American soda and beer bottles? I am curious if the pointed toe of this knife is actually a Baltimore Loop Seal opener, which would date the knife from 1886-1906, when this seal was most popular.
