Shallow water and the Mini-B system

I am picking up a surfmaster PI next week and started looking for ways to take more advantage of it. What I found that I thought was interesting was a system called Mini-B. It is a backpack type SCUBA system that is good for about 30 feet of water, reasonably priced and requires less of a certification than SCUBA. I think it may be just what I am looking for, I just thought others might be interested and or have an opinion on it. I found it by googling "shallow water diving" add "mini-b" to that and a few pretty informative pages will come up.

Another question to ask about now is if my thoughts on SCUBA are accurate. I have CF which limits my lung capacity somewhat, so I was led to believe that the typical certification for diving would be trouble for me. That was my primary reason for looking into this type of setup. If I am wrong on the cert info, please let me know, that would still be my first choice if I thought it was doable. Otherwise, it sounds like this Mini-B thing might be a fairly easy test.

Thanks,
Mike

Well, after a few calls, I found the info I needed, but not what I wanted. Since it is compressed air still, there is difference between this system and normal SCUBA for requirements as far as lung health goes. It was worth checking into though I guess. At any rate, anyone ever do any MDing with a snorkel? Thats my next thought, that I know I can handle.
