Went to a spot that’s been hunted hard for many years. After an hour without finding anything I decided to dig all of the iron tones and lo and behold, I found a Sharps Carbine lock plate. It looks like they were either trying to repair this one or use it for parts to fix another one. Either way, I was happy to find it. I cleaned the scale off and coated it with linseed oil, hopefully that will stop the rust.
