Hunted the small overgrown front yard of a Colonial-era house, still not finding anything amazing (V nickel, Buffalo, Uncas ring, handful of wheats). There was an area of deer or rabbit pellets that I kind of avoided, but after returning for a mop-up sweep (targets, not the pellets :laughing7:) I of course got a broken signal at around 18 on the 800 right there under the load :BangHead:. First IHC from the property with two nails in the hole as well. It was terribly crusted not even revealing the date or any detail, other than a hint at the wreath, at all.

A quick bath in hot peroxide and a scrubbing with some Colgate toothpaste and she looks great! Amazing how some of the older IHCs hold up so well with minimal pitting. This is my second 1864 in two weeks. Nothing great but I thought the story was funny (apologies to my friends from Cleveland :tongue3:).

Nice job Erik!!! I love the war time IHP’s, especially the 1864 because it can be a fatty or come out of the ground in nice shape (;
As for the steamer, I’d rather dig through deer and rabbit poo that dog or horse poo. And don’t forget, rabbit poo is nature’s own Cocoa Puffs (:

That is one sweet coin- Congrats Erik!

Good looking Indian!!!! Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Great job restoring it to great condition. Hope you keep finding those kinda coins

Looks like the fatty version. Well done!

Dang that's a pretty coin . the ones I dig are rotted out for the most part.

Sadly it's not a fatty unless it's a really skinny fatty :laughing7:

Really? Sure looks like one. Color looks right. Maybe the lighting and shadows fooled me. :icon_thumleft:

Your work in cleaning paid off.
