i live in okeechobee fl and have contacted the state of fl about recovering lost items in martin and st luice counties like modern jewelry lost in the ocean i have read actacles about the salvage comp's have arrested for metal detecting in the ocean from low tide out they are supposed to reply me the info if this is against the state permit that is issued for ship wrecks over 100 years old

MD'd in 1976 in GITMO was in US Navy over 12 years was a law enforcement officer in flara erly 1908's retired and bored so i MD the east coast now

In Florida,, you can MD from the dry sand line to the dunes in state parks. Stay out of the water and stay off the dunes.

You cant detect in water from North of Jensen Beach to about a half mile north of Ponce Inlet, the rest is okay to detect, you dont need to contact the state.
