Union Bridle Rosette? If I'm not mistaken, that would be 12th Corps, 3rd Division Union Army,
Fought at Chancellorsville, VA April 30 to May 6, 1863. Hope someone can positively ID this - I voted banner just in case! I would post over in the Civil War Forum also - just a suggestion.

Looks like you have a Shako cap insignia associated with the Topographical Engineers. Great find!
